また，暴風，高波が予想されるため，市内６か所に避難所を開設しています。
開設した避難所は，阿字ヶ浦ふれあい交流館，旧磯崎小学校，旧平磯小学校，那珂湊第一小学校，那珂湊第二小学校，美乃浜学園です。
