This is the official YouTube channel of Sakuragawa City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Sakuragawa City is located 70 ～ 80 km from Tokyo, in the midwestern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, and is blessed with a lush natural environment.
The city is also known as one of the leading stone producing areas in Japan, and local industries that take advantage of regional resources, such as the stone industry using high-quality "Mikageishi" stone and agriculture utilizing the fertile land of the plains, are thriving in the city.

There are many historical assets and historic sites in existence, including "Makabe-no-Machinami", the first national preservation district for important traditional buildings in Ibaraki Prefecture, and "Amabikiyama Rakuho-ji Temple", widely known as a sacred place for safe childbirth and child rearing.

In addition, the "Makabe Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival)" will be held with the Makabe townscape as its main venue. The festival attracts many visitors during the period of the festival and is a lively event representing early spring in Ibaraki Prefecture.

During the cherry blossom season, the many wild cherry trees growing wild in the mountains of the city, including the Sakuragawa cherry tree, a designated national natural treasure, which has been called "Yoshino in the west and Sakuragawa in the east" since ancient times, as well as the yamazakura cherry tree in Takamine, offer a patchwork-like view with fresh green foliage of mellow yellow color.
